• Eliminate Garbage Can Odors
  Eliminate garbage can or diaper pail odors, sprinkle a layer of baking soda into the can, add a small amount of water and swish it around a few times before pouring out; add a thin layer of baking soda under the garbage bag to help keep things fresh

• Removing Stains from Bathroom surfaces
  You can remove stains from most bathroom surfaces by applying a paste of baking soda and water; let sit for a few minutes then scrub or wipe clean. 

• removing hard water stains
  Water stains are another common occurrence if you live in a hard water area. Use baking soda, sprinkled onto the stain, and then wipe clean with vinegar. Remember to watch out for the fizz!

• General Cleaner & Sanitizer
  Pour 3% hydrogen peroxide solution into a clean spray bottle (not previously filled with toxic cleaners) and use it as you would any other household cleaner: spray on countertops and leave for a few minutes to sanitize

• hairbrush deep cleaner
  3 tablespoon (42g) baking soda
  3 tablespoons (45ml) vinegar
  warm water
  Hairbrushes and combs need a deep clean every now and then to remove the buildup of styling products and oil that can accumulate; otherwise, a dirty brush can make for dirtier hair as you inadvertently put small amounts of those materials back into your hair every time you use it! To get your beauty tools spic-and-span the all-natural way, start by placing them in the sink and sprinkling them with the baking soda. Pour the vinegar over them and let them bubble and fizz for a few minutes. Fill the sink with warm water and let the brushes soak for a few hours. Rinse thoroughly, taking care to remove any trapped hair, and allow to air-dry.  

• Creamy Soft Scrub
  2 cups baking soda
  ½ cup liquid castile soap
  4 teaspoons vegetable glycerin (acts as a preservative)
  5 drops antibacterial essential oil such as lavender, tea tree, rosemary or any scent you prefer (optional)
  
  Mix together and store in a sealed glass jar, shelf life of 2 years.
  
  Tips: For exceptionally tough jobs spray with vinegar first—full strength or diluted, scented—let sit and follow with scrub.
  
  Dry soft scrubs can be made with baking soda or salt (or combination of both) with 10-15 drops essential oil to scent 

• sink and countertop disinfectant
  1/4 cup (60ml) vinegar
  
  Bacteria are everywhere, but you can minimize the presence of the harmful varieties on sinks and counter-tops with a good dose of vinegar-its acidity not only kills most bacteria but can also inhibit future growth. Use a clean cloth to apply 1/4 cup (60ml) vinegar to countertops and sinks. Do not rinse with water, but, instead, allow to air-dry (the sour scent will fade ad it dries). 

• cleaning humidifiers
  Rinse out humidifiers every few days and add two tablespoons of vinegar to prevent mold and bacteria from forming. Running this in the bathroom with the door and window closed will eliminate mold. Rinse and run again with clean water. It's important to renew the water each time instead of just filling up the reservoir. 

• disinfectant
  Kill germs in the bathroom by mixing vinegar and water in a spritzer bottle. Apply liberally. 

• septic tank maintenance
  1 cup (220g) baking soda
  
  Flushing 1 cup (220g) baking soda into your septic system once a week is an easy way to maintain a neutral pH range in the tank. This basically means that the bacteria present are able to thrive, and, thus, process the other organic matter. A bit of baking soda also helps keep those rotten egg smells that sometimes accompany a septic system to a minimum.
• bathroom fixture cleaner
  3/4 cup (175ml) vinegar
  3/4 cup (175ml) water
  
  Owing to its grease-fighting ability, vinegar is an excellent resource for polishing chrome and stainless steel surfaces like bathroom fixtures. Keep a spray bottle filled with equal parts vinegar and water with your bathroom cleaning supplies (change the amount if necessary, but keep the ratio 1:1). Just a quick squirt on the fixtures is all you need to keep them spotless. Wipe dry and buff to a shine with a dry paper towel.
